Connect Claude Code to Traffic Creator

Claude Code can read and manage your campaigns from the terminal through the Traffic Creator MCP server.

Option 1: With an API Key#

  1. In the dashboard, open API & MCP and create a key (choose Read only if Claude Code should only report). See Create, use and revoke API keys.
  2. Store it in your shell as TRAFFIC_CREATOR_API_KEY.
  3. Run this once:
claude mcp add --transport http traffic-creator https://traffic-creator.com/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $TRAFFIC_CREATOR_API_KEY"

Add --scope user right after --transport http to use the server in all your projects instead of only the current one. The key is saved in ~/.claude.json.

Option 2: Sign In With Your Account#

  1. Add the server without a key:
claude mcp add --transport http traffic-creator https://traffic-creator.com/mcp
  1. In Claude Code, type /mcp, select traffic-creator and follow the sign-in, or run claude mcp login traffic-creator in your shell. Your browser opens the Traffic Creator sign-in.
  2. Sign in, choose Full access or Read only, and click Allow.

The app then appears under API & MCP → Connected apps, where you can disconnect it.

Try It#

Ask, for example: "Which of my Traffic Creator campaigns delivered the most visits this week?"

Claude Code asks before it uses each Traffic Creator tool for the first time. For tools that create, change or resume a campaign, answer Yes rather than "don't ask again", and check the cost preview first. In auto mode or with permission prompts switched off, Claude Code may not ask at all.

Already connected Traffic Creator on claude.ai? If you sign in to Claude Code with the same Claude account, the connector is available there automatically. A server you add with claude mcp add at the same address takes its place.

Remove It#

Run claude mcp remove traffic-creator (or claude mcp logout traffic-creator to only sign out), then revoke the key under API & MCP → Your keys, or disconnect the app under Connected apps if you signed in.

Troubleshooting#

ProblemWhat to check
/mcp shows the server as failedRun claude mcp get traffic-creator and check the address is exactly https://traffic-creator.com/mcp.
401 or "Unauthorized"The key in the header is wrong or was revoked, or TRAFFIC_CREATOR_API_KEY was empty when you ran claude mcp add. Claude Code doesn't fall back to signing in when a key is set: remove the server and add it again.
API scope or server IP not permittedThe key or sign-in is read only. Use full access for changes.
