How Daily Hit Limits Work in TrafficCreator
The Visitors per Day value you set is the daily ceiling for a project. Once it's reached, that project stops for the rest of the UTC day and resumes automatically at the next UTC midnight — it never runs past the limit you set.
Where To Find It#

Two labels, one setting: the summary card at the top of a project is headed Daily speed ("Configured delivery pace"), while the editable field further down is Visitors per Day. Traffic Schedule underneath shows the run window and the per-day figure together.
What This Means#
- The day is a UTC day, not your local day. If you're in New York, your project's counter rolls over at 20:00 the previous evening; in Sydney, mid-morning. This is the most common surprise with daily caps.
- While capped, the badge reads "Paused today" and hovering it shows "Daily cap reached for UTC date …". That is not an error and needs no action from you.
- Hitting the cap costs nothing extra. Only delivered visits draw on your balance.
- Raising the value increases how fast your total goal can be reached, subject to available inventory.
Why You Might Get Less Than Your Daily Limit#
The daily limit is a ceiling, not a quota — two settings can legitimately hold delivery below it:
- Active hours. Delivery only runs during the project's configured active window. Outside it, nothing is sent, and a narrow window may not fit the whole daily allowance.
- Day-of-week weighting. Where per-day variation is configured, the effective target for a given day is your daily limit multiplied by that day's weight — so a quieter weekday can deliberately deliver less. This is what makes the pattern look human rather than flat.
If neither applies and you're still short, the cause is usually inventory rather than your settings — see Why delivery can be slower than expected.
Troubleshooting#
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| Delivery stops partway through the day | Check whether "Delivered" already matches your daily cap — expected, not an error. |
| Cap resets at an odd time | It resets at UTC midnight, not local midnight. Convert from your timezone. |
| Consistently under the daily limit | Check the active-hours window and any day-of-week weighting before assuming a fault. |
| Want faster overall completion | Raise Visitors Per Day, subject to inventory limits described in Why delivery can be slower than expected. |
