GeoNode is a proxy network provider offering residential, datacenter, and ISP proxy types. Their residential pool spans 10M+ IPs across 195+ countries, with HTTP and SOCKS5 protocol support.

Success Rate by Target Type

These numbers are from our own production monitoring, not vendor-provided benchmarks.

For traffic generation and standard web scraping, the 97–99% success rate on standard targets is excellent.

The drop to 75–85% on heavily protected enterprise targets is real and expected for this market tier. If you're scraping LinkedIn at scale, GeoNode's residential network will require more retries than a premium provider's anti-detection stack.

For traffic generation workloads, this latency is irrelevant. You're simulating human browsing behavior, not building a low-latency trading system.

GA4 Session Visibility

The most critical metric for traffic generation: do GeoNode sessions appear in Google Analytics 4?

Yes. After running controlled test batches (comparing GeoNode residential vs. datacenter proxy sessions), GeoNode residential sessions consistently appeared in GA4 with full engagement data — session duration, page views, scroll events, and geographic attribution.

Datacenter proxy sessions from the same test batches were suppressed by GA4's bot filters at a 95–100% rate.

One known limitation: approximately 20–22% of GeoNode sessions show "City: (not set)" in GA4 geolocation. This is not a detection issue — the sessions appear and are counted — but city-level geo attribution fails for these sessions. Country-level attribution is accurate.

Pricing Analysis

GeoNode uses a bandwidth-based pricing model for residential proxies. You buy GB of bandwidth, not individual IPs.

GeoNode's residential pricing puts them in the mid-market range — significantly cheaper than Bright Data's $10.89/GB pay-as-you-go residential rate.

For traffic generation workloads at 2–3 MB per session, you're looking at approximately 400–500 sessions per GB. At $4/GB, that's roughly $0.008–$0.01 per session in proxy costs.

Dashboard and Developer Experience

GeoNode's dashboard is one of the cleaner interfaces in the residential proxy market.

What works well:

Integration: How We Connect Traffic Creator to GeoNode

Traffic Creator's backend connects to GeoNode's residential pool through a rotating proxy configuration with sticky sessions. Each simulated user session gets a unique session ID.

The "(not set)" city problem needs improvement. Roughly one in five sessions failing to geo-attribute at the city level in GA4 is a real limitation for campaigns requiring precise city-level signals.

No built-in anti-detection tooling. GeoNode provides raw residential proxies, nothing more. Operators who want managed CAPTCHA solving need to build that stack themselves or use Bright Data.

Success rate ceiling on protected targets. The 75–85% success rate on enterprise-protected targets means significant retry overhead for high-frequency scraping of sites like LinkedIn.

GeoNode is an excellent fit for:
